About this play
The opposite read off the downscreen: when the screener's defender cheats under the screen or sits in the lane waiting for the pop, the screener fades toward the wing for the skip pass and the three. Ed Cooley's version has the slot player flare instead of downscreening; the read is the same. Pair this with the curl so the defender can never be right.
