About this practice
The morning of a preseason double day, European style: the physical work and the individual work, with the team practice saved for the evening. The whole day is capped at five hours and a team never runs three double days in a row, so the morning is ninety minutes with a clear job. It is ball handling and footwork at two baskets, the balance shooting routine the best point guards do every day, the hesitation series, two-ball control, the finishing package, and game shots counted by makes and then shot tired on purpose. Conditioning is sprints with free throws right after, because the hardest running should be followed by the shot that needs the calmest hands. The guard work comes from Igor Kokoškov's FIBA clinic on drills for guards, which carries the balance routine he took from Steve Nash, and the double-day caps are the EuroLeague Framework Agreement's; watch the clinic.
