One-guard front, 5 at the right elbow, 2 in the strong-side corner. 1 enters the ball to 5, because Over, like every Point route, starts with the hub catching at the elbow.
1 cuts over the top of 5 and sets a wide pin-down for 2 in the right corner, because Over means the passer's screen goes to the strong side and the pin-down brings the shooter to the post.
2 comes off the pin-down toward 5 with X2 trailing, and 1 shakes back to the top; the read is X2 trailing, because trailing means take the handoff and overplaying would mean reject and back cut.
5 hands the ball to 2 coming off the screen and his body shields X2, because the handoff is a second screen on a defender who has just fought through the first.
2 turns the corner downhill and 5 rolls to the rim. The scouted adjustment: X3 sinks off the left wing into the lane to stop the ball and X4 pulls in from the corner to take the roll, because that is how a defense that cannot stay with the handoff has to protect the paint.
Counter: 2 kicks to 3 on the left wing, because the defender who sank to the ball is the one who left a shooter one pass away.
Counter continued: 3 makes one more pass to 4 in the left corner as X3 closes out long, and 2 relocates to the right wing to space, because the second helper left the corner too and one more pass is always the Princeton answer to a rotating defense.
4 shoots the corner three; the pin-down, the handoff, the roll, and two passes pulled two helpers into the lane and left the corner empty, which is why Over is run toward the strong-side shooter.
