Drill: 3-on-2 to 2-on-1
wide lanes,

X1
X2
1 pushes the ball up the middle and 2 and 3 sprint wide to the sidelines, ahead of the ball, because a wing who runs inside the lane line brings his defender into the paint with him.
1 drives at the top defender and stops at the free-throw line, never deeper, so he keeps both passing lanes; X1 steps up to stop the ball, which is the commitment 1 was waiting for. The wings fill the free-throw line extended.
X1 committed, so 1 passes to 2 on the left wing. X2 rotates up to take the first pass because the low man in the stack owns the wings; the top man owns the ball.
2 catches and shoots in rhythm with no dribble, because the drill allows one shot per trip and the advantage dies the moment the ball hits the floor.
The shot misses and X1 turns and goes to the rim for the rebound, so the defense converts to offense without a pause; 2, the shooter, is the only one who gets back.
X1 secures the rebound. 2 is already sprinting back alone because the shooter is the designated safety; 1 and 3 clear to the baseline line and wait their turn, which is why nobody else retreats.
X1 pushes the ball up the middle and X2 runs the right lane wide, so the 2-on-1 attacks the rim before any help can arrive; 2 gets to the free-throw line first and squares up.
2 drops to the lane and contains the ball with his hands up, giving ground and making the two attackers prove it with a contested shot, because one defender who stops the ball first forces the pass and buys time. Two new players join X1 for the next 3-on-2.
