Horns out of the timeout: 4 and 5 at the elbows, 2 and 3 in the corners, 1 with the ball at the top. Why Horns after a timeout: it puts the best player on the ball with two screens to choose from and two shooters in the corners holding the help.
4 steps up and sets the first ball screen on X1's right side. Why the first screen is a real one: the misdirection only works if the defense has to guard it.
1 dribbles right off 4's screen and 4 drifts to the right wing as the misdirection; X4 goes with him and X1 chases over the screen. Why 4 drifts instead of rolling: the roll comes on the second screen, and a drift pulls one defender out of the play.
5 steps up and sets the second ball screen on the left as 1 reverses his dribble. Why the second screen is the play: Carlisle's rule is that the first option is usually not there and the second comes immediately after the defense has committed to the first.
