The coach, 1, shoots from the free-throw line and everyone yells shot, because the call is what turns four heads toward their men instead of toward the rim. 4 and 5 are the outlets on the wings.
X2 and X3 pivot into 2 and 3 and make contact first, backside into the thighs, so the offense has to go through a body to get to the glass.
2 and 3 try to slide baseline to the rim and the defenders ride them with their legs, staying between man and basket, because a box-out that lets the man get a shoulder past is already lost.
The ball comes off to the left and X2 releases to go get it with two hands, so the pursuit starts the instant he knows where the ball is going.
X2 secures the rebound at the top of his jump and chins it, ball high and elbows out, because a ball brought down to the waist is a ball the crashing offense can strip.
X2 pivots away from the pressure and outlets to 4, who steps to meet the pass rather than waiting for it; pass, never dribble out of traffic, because the dribble is where the strip happens. The rebound is done, so lines rotate: defenders to outlet, outlets to the back of the offense, offense to defense.
