Drill: 3v2 Sprint Back (Tear Butt)

Three offense across the baseline, two defenders at the free throw line facing them: X1 passes to 1 to start and 2 and 3 take off wide, because the defense cannot leave until the ball does and the offense is already running.
1 speed-dribbles the middle while X1 and X2 turn and sprint the length of the floor, X2 to the front of the rim and X1 to the nail, calling it: I have basket, I have ball, because basket first is the whole rule of transition defense.
1 crosses half court and X1 steps up to stop the ball at the nail while 2 and 3 run to the wings, because a dribbler who gets to the free throw line with a head of steam has two layups to choose from.
1 passes to 2 on the left wing: X2 leaves the rim and closes out on the ball with no baseline, forcing him middle, and X1 drops to protect the rim, because in transition there is no help behind a baseline drive.
2 reverses it to 3 on the right wing and the two trade again: X1 closes out to the ball and X2 sprints back to the rim, because the two defenders have to keep swapping jobs until a shot or a stop.
3 attacks middle off the catch and X1 turns him with X2 holding the rim; X1 contests without leaving his feet, no layup and no long two, and the stop sends the next three the other way, because the drill runs end to end with the score kept.
