Drill: Jump Stop, Pivot, and Triple Threat Footwork
two lines:
passers and
movers
1
2
Passers line up at the top with balls, movers at the wing. 1 cuts toward the corner and jump-stops on the square: a small hop landing on both feet at once, knees bent, because a high hop lands staggered and that is a travel.
1 reverse pivots on the inside foot to face the open floor and cuts to the block; the pivot foot stays glued to the floor the whole turn, otherwise the pivot becomes a walk.
V-cut: 1 plants the inside foot hard, pushes off, and cuts back out to the free-throw line extended, because a cut with no sharp change of direction never loses a defender.
1 forward pivots on the baseline foot to face the passer with his hands up, and 2 passes; 1 catches in triple threat, ball in the shot pocket and knees bent, so he can shoot, pass, or drive without a second move.
1 shoots from the catch, then follows his shot, passes to the next passer, and joins the passing line, because every player gets both the footwork and the passing reps.
