Drill: Partner Passing Series

Chest pass: 1 steps into the pass and snaps it to 2's chest with thumbs down on the release, because the step and the snap are what make a chest pass arrive on time instead of floating.
2 catches with two hands and lands in triple threat, then returns the chest pass to 1's target hands; ten each, so the point is a game-ready catch on every rep, not just the throw.
Bounce pass: 1 drives the ball into the floor three-quarters of the way to 2 so it comes up waist to chest, because a bounce that hits close to the receiver arrives at his ankles.
2 returns the bounce pass off a step, never overhead, because a bounce pass thrown from above the head is slow and gets read; the receiver shows two hands at the waist so the passer has a target.
Overhead pass: both rows back up past twenty feet, and 1 snaps a two-hand overhead with just enough arc to clear a hand, so it reaches 2 as a pass and not a lob a defender can run under.
Outlet version: 2 turns his back, chins the ball, pivots to face 1, and throws the overhead on sight, because that is the rebound-to-outlet sequence in a game; then the coach calls push passes and the series resets.
